Mission

The Department of Anthropology houses fossil finds of hominids and human remains of historic people used to live in the territory of Hungary of today. Our main task is the scientific research on this rich collection which is representative in both time and space, and also displaying our achievements in exhibitions. The department is a base for the Hungarian historical anthropological research. Its collection ranges from Neolithic finds to Modern Pre-Industrial Times.
