History of the find: A stone was found near the village of Rumanová during harvest time. It got wedged between the blades of a harvester. To dislodge it, it was necessary to break it to pieces. The first analyses in the Geological Institute of the Slovak Academy of Science proved that it was a meteorite. The stone had lain on the surface for at least several decades, because it was severely eroded. When the stone proved to be a meteorite, its finder, engineer Jozef Tehlár, presented it to the Slovak National Museum in Bratislava.
