Research work at the Department of Zoology

Summary

Staff members of the Department of Zoology focus on the development and scientific use of the collections. Target areas of the collecting activities are the Carpathian Basin, the Balkans and the countries of Southeast Asia. Our studies focus primarily on taxonomy and faunistics , however, we participate in ecological and conservation biological projects, as well.

We also take part in international research programs, including intensive collaboration with several foreign museums and laboratories.
