This interactive session takes place at our Permanent Exhibition where we get to know the natural forest communities of Hungary and their characteristic flora and fauna. During the session, students will get to know about the different levels where forest life takes place, and whether there is a difference between native forests and the wildlife of tree plantations. They will learn of the tree species that make up Hungary’s forests through taking their fruits and leaves in their hands, while they can also touch authentic animal specimens and compare the different teeth of forest animals. They can gain an insight into the world of soil dwellers, how the squirrel and the jay help the foresters, in what type of forest you can find truffles and they can also find out why death cap mushrooms are so important to oak trees and why we need to beware of them.

Pupils can gain insight into the diverse relationship system of forest species through which they can acquire a basic ecological knowledge that supplements their school studies. At the session, we will of course get to know the native predators and big game of Hungary.
